I ‘borrowed’ my terms and conditions from another trader, so I’m covered?

Maybe, maybe not. There are several things here, the first is that the terms will not reflect your business or your business practices. The second is that you are very reliant on the fact that the person you borrowed the terms and conditions from actually got them right in the first case, as they may well have borrowed them from someone else. Thirdly you are probably in breach of copyright. Terms and conditions that apply in the US do not necessarily work in the UK. Finally you won’t necessarily have the most robust set of terms and conditions to protect your business from unnecessary risk.
